Nigeria Management of Nigeria’s biggest traffic monitoring site, Tsaboin Traffic Talk, has restated its commitment towards easing the challenge of traffic gridlock experienced by road users in Lagos State. CEO of the company, Dele Odufuye, said the traffic monitoring firm is at the forefront of providing traffic through free live feeds from cameras installed in strategic locations around the state. Odufuye said 17 cameras are operational across locations around the state while plans are ongoing to increase the number of cameras in Lagos and other states. He said Tsaboin camera views had crossed 1.2 million views with 65 percent of the views originating from mobile devices. He said further said the app is data friendly especially for mobile smartphone users.

Qualcomm pushes LTE/Wi-Fi convergence on Snapdragon 820

Qualcomm added its next-generation LTE modem – supporting what it says is true convergence between LTE and Wi-Fi – to its upcoming Snapdragon 820 processor.
EVP and co-president of Qualcomm, Cristiano Amon said it is no longer talking about LTE and Wi-Fi separately. “We look at how the two technologies work together, with the user experience at the centre.”
The new X12 modem is a converged LTE/Wi-Fi mobile system on a chip (SoC) that supports a theoretical downlink speed of 600Mb/s (3x20MHz carrier aggregation) and an uplink rate of 150Mb/s (2x20MHz CA). It has a tri-band (2.4, 5 and 60GHz) Wi-Fi modem.

Internet Users On Nigeria’s Telecoms Networks Hit 93 Million – NCC
The Nigerian Communications Commission said that the number of internet users on the country’s telecom networks increased to more than 93 million in July.
The commission made this known in its monthly internet subscriber data.
The number of subscribers that surfed the internet in June was put at 92,816,572 but increased to 93,551,811 in the month of July.
